Are they? I'm starting to wonder... One of my friends said that they thought that perhaps the "era" of TG Blog popularity was drawing to a close. Maybe it just doesn't matter what I do anymore.
I gotta be honest with y'all... I'm just not feeling it right now... It's not inspiration... I have tons of ideas, and have downloaded a ton of new source pics in the past two weeks... It's no motivation...
I just can't see wasting the time and effort to post what I believe is a quality caption, only to have it largely or even totally ignored.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm having PC problems and my job is taking up WAY more of my time than it was when I started this Blog, just 40 days ago. It takes a lot of work, in the little spare time that I have, to still try to post regularly... It's pretty disheartening to have a VAST majority of my September captions to have between 0-2 comments...
I honestly don't know if it's just me, my work, "you/the public" or what.... All I know is that getting 10k page views in a single day and ONE comment on a total of 4 captions posted really doesn't "work" for me... I'm not trying to be a Drama Queen. I'm not threatening to stop posting. I'm not planning on abandoning the Blog. I WILL continue to post. But, I won't post a ton of new captions with 12 out of my last 14 caps receiving 2 or less comments, 6 receiving 1 or less...
It's a wonderful little Catch-22... Every time I post less than 3 caps per day, my page views go in the toilet... The only way to increase page views is to post MORE captions, which I just won't do, if I can't get the feeling anybody is enjoying what I am doing here...
I talked to a few other TG Blog Owner/Operators, and they have all seen overall slowdowns... Maybe TG Blogs are just passe'.... Maybe there just aren't that many new and original ways to present the fantasy(s).... Or, maybe it's just a seasonal "lull", and I'm making a big deal over nothing at all. I just don't know.
Perhaps I got a false impression of the "lay of the land" in August... I was posting huge amounts, and it seemed that the comments were keeping up pretty well, as was the interest. I just don't see it anymore. Maybe this is just "normal", and my perception is screwy....
For this Blog, the paradigm is pretty simple. If you want me to post more often, comment more. If you don't care, or are happy with me posting a single cap every few days, then just keep doing exactly what you are doing :)
